One of our favorite new magazine’s to hit New York City, MANHATTAN MAGAZINE, recently covered the Foundation’s biennial presentation of the Hugo Boss Prize, Artist Hans-Peter Feldmann won the honor and was the toast of the evening. The German artist is known for creating carefully conceived installations from everyday images.

The $100,000 award, established in 1996 by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and named for the German men’s wear company that sponsors it, is given every two years for significant achievement in contemporary art.  Hans-Peter Feldmann’s series “100 Years” was featured in a show at MoMA P.S. 1 in Long Island City, Queens, in 2004-5. And two years ago his work was on view at the International Center of Photography in Midtown Manhattan, when he filled a room with the framed front pages of 100 newspapers — from New York, Paris, Dubai, Sydney, Seoul and elsewhere— printed on Sept. 12, 2001.
